OUR BELIEFS

We believe that there is one God who is eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible to be sixty-six books which have been inspired by the Holy Spirit which are inerrant in the original manuscripts and represents the complete, sufficient, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe in the full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ as the eternally begotten Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, the miracles He performed, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory at the end of the age.

We believe that humans were created by God as distinctly male and female and fashioned in His image. Through the introduction of sin Adam and Eve, and through them all their offspring, fell under a curse which brought with it spiritual and physical death, condemnation, and judgement. In our natural state humans are now sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and objects of His wrath. Only by faith in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and his bodily resurrection can our sins be forgiven and our relationship with God restored.

We believe that salvation is a gift from God given by grace alone through faith in Christ alone apart from all human works and efforts.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells the Christian and empowers us to live a life which is pleasing to God.

We believe in the local church where believers are to faithfully assemble to worship the Lord, fellowship with one another, and be equipped through biblical teaching for the work of ministry.

We believe in the security of the believer’s salvation. Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ by grace through faith the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not be the self-effort of the Christian.

We believe that people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

OUR DISTINCTIVES

Weekly Communion – The Bible says the early Christians “broke bread” whenever they gathered for worship (Acts 2:42; 20:6-11). We have chosen to follow that pattern and therefore we practice communion every weekend. Participation is welcomed and encouraged but not mandatory.

Immersion Baptism – Just as the first Christians, we encourage all who believe in Jesus Christ to express their obedience and faith by identifying with their Lord and Savior through being baptized by immersion in water.
